“I was seduced by the Versace-couture plates and cutlery, and it's bespoke furnishings with glamorous interior design.”
Generally when I book myself into hotel (especially if it’s 5-star), I research the usual stuff: their room view, facilities, and most importantly - restaurants and cafes. Seeing as Palazzo Versace has Le Jardin, I checked their menu and saw high tea - check! I proceed to treat myself and book a table for high tea. As soon as I got out of the cab, I checked in to my room, dropped my bags, and head straight down to Le Jardin. I was excited. I figured since Palazzo Versace is a 5-star hotel, their high tea would be on par, right?
You might be wondering 'Versace - as in the high end fashion designer?'. Yes, you're right: Palazzo Versace, Gold Coast is fashion designer Donatella Versace's digs - along with the one in Dubai.
Le Jardin is situated across Plaazzo Versace’s bespoke and luxurious lobby area; sitting on top of a well preserved marble floor with the entire area abundantly soaked in natural light and sheer opulence (most of the hotel furnishings, if not everything, is imported from Italy). Though this is all thanks to the enormous – 2 storey high – glass window walls which also separate the peace between those who are indoors, and the water babies draped in designer brands in the main pool along with those wanting to get their tan on; planked on cabanas by the pool.
Even their menu is couture
Teaware with Biscotti

What Lexxie Says: Despite the waterfront feature, spectacular architecture, Italian furnishings, extraordinary service and an ambience of pure glamour, I’m left saying to myself in the end “Well, at least I tried Le Jardin’s Couture High Tea”.
I admit that at first, I was seduced by the Versace-couture plates and cutlery, and it's bespoke furnishings with glamorous interior design. However once the high tea stand arrived, the food itself lacked the pizzazz and as I sat there, seemed a little like the feeling of ‘instant coffee-esque’ high tea rather than the feeling of what you'd normally get at an actual high tea experience.
With great respect to the fantastic service I received from the staff at Le Jardin, I would give Le Jardin another go - just probably not their high tea.
