“Depending on your taste, Katherine Sabbath’s Limited High Tea would've been either a hit or miss.”
It's no secret that I love afternoon/high teas. When I heard Katherine Sabbath was collaborating with The Tea Salon, Sydney, I made my booking instantly and away I went. It was an interesting high tea with visual appeal.
Let’s get straight into it!

What Lexxie Says: This was my second time coming to The Tea Salon, Sydney and I really enjoyed my first visit for high tea. What stood out for me the most at the Tea Salon was their scones: flavoursome, moist and decently sized. My worries floated away knowing that the scones were yet again flavoursome and moist the second time.
I really enjoyed the Petit Savoury Tartlets. Those tartlets packed a punch in each bite and the size was just about right with the amount of savouriness in it.
In terms of desserts, the real winner for me was the Rose & Pistachio Pannacotta w/ Persian Fairy Floss. It was smooth, flavoursome and every texture in it were perfectly balanced.
In terms of negatives, the Ribbon Sandwiches were a little dry. At most high tea places I visit, I’ve always found sandwiches to be a little dry so this wasn’t unusual. The flavours were there, just needed a bit more spread.
I loved the visual appearance of the Gumball Zig-Zag Lemon & Raspberry Donut. The colours and shape itself reminded me of an ode to ‘The Simpsons’. As I cut into the donut, I instantly felt some resistance, so I knew it was dense and a bit dry. I was hoping the thick glaze over the donut could save it, but alas, the donut was still too dry. If the donut wasn’t dry, it would’ve been a bit hit!
I’m only slightly nitpicking with the Banana Cupcake w/ Fresh Raspberry Cream so it’s just a small thing. The cupcake with the cream were so well together. The only downer for me was the childhood candy of banana bits on top – they were tooth-breakingly hard to bite into – which detracted me from eating the lovely Banana Cupcake w/ Fresh Raspberry Cream.
What about the Dark Chocolate & Orange Fudge Tart w/ Salty Toffee Shards? I love the dark chocolate and orange combination. Sadly, this tart was overpowered by the orange and high amount of sweetness. I reckon some of my friends would’ve enjoyed it, and others wouldn’t have liked it at all. I did like the texture of the fudgy tart and the salty toffee shards.
Depending on your taste, Katherine Sabbath’s Limited High Tea would've been either a hit or miss.
