“The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party did not disappoint.”

Being a massive Alice in Wonderland fan, I definitely wanted to check out The Westin’s Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea Party menu. Seeing as it was a 'Tea Party', I didn’t want to break tradition by going with a group of my girlfriends to enjoy this experience with.

I think the Mad Hatter would be quite proud.

What Lexxie Says: At this point in time, I’ve been to a fair amount of afternoon/high teas. And although I haven’t posted all my afternoon/high teas experiences (primarily because my blog didn’t exist at the time when I started my adventures for afternoon/high tea), this has been the only place I am willing to come back for afternoon tea. Every afternoon tea experience I’ve had at The Westin has always been good. So when I saw the Mad Hatter’s menu at The Westin, naturally I’ve set the bar quite high.

The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party did not disappoint. Starting from service, all the way down to their food – impeccable. I think it’s just as important to point out staff service as it sets the tone and atmosphere of your experience. Staff were friendly, engaging and regularly came by to top up our glasses and see how we were. What’s great about their afternoon tea is the unlimited supply of tea. There was a time where my mother and I went through 6 different teas in one sitting. They were quite generous about it too.

In relation to food, everything was fresh and exciting to sink our teeth into. With the savoury dishes, it was quite wholesome and filling. They all looked quite simple, but the flavour was there. Special shout out to Roasted Beef – it wasn’t dry and chewy. The salad might've looked dry, but a refreshing dressing came with it. For the health nuts, it was olive oil and dash of lemon juice dressing.

The dishes I looked forward to the most were the sweets (obviously). I am a sweet tooth by nature and I was very fond of Mad Hatter’s Dark Chocolate Mud Cake. It was moist inside and very chocolatey. You’d really want to have your tea with it. I loved the Blueberry Macaroon as it wasn’t dense and heavy with the blueberry cream filling. And I also loved the Raspberry Heart. All three married well together and didn’t make you feel sick eating each one (unless there’s a certain flavour you don’t like, then beware).

The Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea Party was only available for a limited time, however if they ever release this menu again, I highly recommend you don't miss out on this opportunity!
